I prefer a solid insert over the coil ones. The m12 one is a 12x1.75 not 1.5 so different bolts are needed. I had one strip, and ended up replacing it with a self tapping insert from carrlane. The bonus of this way is you can custom adjust vibrations by how much urethane is added. The climate in Black Forest during April can be summarized as cool and reasonably dry. I may end up doing the same to a new mount and putting that in. I would recommend letting the urethane cure for a week. I have already done the dogbone mod, and I don't want any more vibrations, so I'll leave that be for now. I filled the holes in the oem trans mount, but I think the BFI ones are ok. I just used 3M window weld about half way up the old mount.

I found a thread on a Honda forum and also one on Vortex on how to update mounts. The excessive vibration was not worth the performance gain. I kind of had a oldman moment with BFI's engine mount. I am using the BFI trans inserts and I have modded the old engine mount. I think I have found a livable solution for my mounts. (I ran the VF mounts for 600+ miles, and they were still as harsh as they were when I first installed them, MAJOR vibrations.) Different durometer inserts for the OEM mounts would be more ideal but think that BFI discontinued selling the inserts to sell the mount "kits".

I have some VF engineering mounts in which I want to install but would like to purchase different durometer inserts for it, any idea's as to who can cut some in a Lathe? I sent VF engineering an email of the "idea" of different durometer inserts but they were not interested.

After reinstalling the dogbone mount I noticed the little round bushing is torn, so will install the poly version of that at a later time. Prior to this I was running a single poly insert in the dogbone and half of a cut down OEM rubber insert. Engine movement and clunking has been reduced dramatically with no real noticeable vibration. Currently I am using the ECS/Energy suspension dogbone mount, but have not installed the little round bushing in it.
